Sogei SpA (General Computer Society) is the Italian company operating in the ICT sector, 100% controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of which it is an “in house” company. It carries out IT consulting services for the Italian public administration, in particular for the Ministry of Economy and Finance and for tax agencies (tax registry, public accounting, customs and monopolies, monitoring of public spending, software development and management, health, etc.). The headquarters are housed in a complex of buildings located in Rome, Via Mario Carucci; it is a structure made up of a series of buildings for a total of over 40,000 square meters, visited daily by more than 1,800 employees, for a total annual consumption of approximately 7,000 toe.

What we have done

Federico Santi held the position of Energy Manager of Sogei from 2011 to 2018, supporting the company, through the technical structure of Studio Santi, in the process of rationalizing energy consumption. The consumption analysis processes, conducted through specific annual reports, made it possible to identify a series of opportunities for energy efficiency through interventions carried out (modernization of the UPS, redevelopment of part of the internal and external lighting and of the air conditioning systems of the offices and data centers) and scheduled (modernization of the electrical infrastructure, continuation of the redevelopment of lighting and air conditioning systems, introduction of a trigeneration system, etc …) for a potential reduction in consumption of approximately 20%.
